Your first objective

Your objective is to collect enough crystals, survive the encounter, and fly into the luminous portal that opens at the far side of the screen. Instead of making you learn complicated rules, Phoenix Rift begins with a straightforward challenge: move your bird, gather three crystals, and reach the exit.

Controls and starting the game

Fly with arrow keys or WASD, press Space to breathe fire, and use Shift for a quick storm dash.

On mobile, use the on-screen buttons.

How to Play On a desktop or laptop, press WASD or the arrow keys to steer the phoenix in any direction.

Hold Space to launch streams of magical fire at enemies approaching from the right.

Press Shift to perform a forward storm dash.

Press P to pause or resume the action.

Keep the portal objective in view

Steer the phoenix around threats while breathing fire toward approaching enemies. Use storm dash to change position when there is a safe destination, and keep checking the crystal requirement. Clearing a path is helpful only if you also gather enough crystals to open the exit. Avoid chasing an enemy away from your intended route.

A useful first-session routine

Start with one manageable section and test each action separately. Once movement feels comfortable, combine it with the main objective rather than adding every action at once. After a failed attempt, change one decision and try again; this makes it easier to understand which timing or route helped. On a phone, use the visible touch controls. On a computer, click inside the game before using its keyboard commands. Fullscreen may require a direct tap and depends on your browser.
