Play the expanded Honk City: Street Life below. Press START YOUR SHIFT to begin and enable sound.

Honk City: Street Life brings a lively neighborhood to your browser. This expanded traffic control game features illustrated shops, moving citizens, pedestrian crossings, cars, buses, bicycles, motorcycles and police vehicles. A bakery, coffee shop, fresh market, bookshop, pizza restaurant, pharmacy and police station surround the busy intersection. Your job is to keep the neighborhood moving during a two-minute shift while protecting public patience.

Press Start Your Shift to begin. Give north–south traffic a green light with Vertical, or open the east–west route with Horizontal. On a computer, the arrow keys or the number keys 1 and 2 provide the same controls. On a phone, use the large buttons or tap a road directly. Lights include a clearance period before the next route opens, allowing vehicles already inside the intersection to leave.

Pedestrians now have their own crossing cycle. Press Walk Signal, W or 3 to request it. The game waits for traffic to clear, then stops vehicles and lets waiting citizens cross the marked zebra crossings. Each person who completes the crossing earns twenty points. Do not forget the people waiting on the sidewalks: if they wait too long, public patience decreases. After the walk cycle, the game prepares vertical traffic again.

The neighborhood has several types of road users. Bicycles travel more slowly, motorcycles move faster, and buses take up more space in a queue. Police cars have flashing lights. Watch the orange waiting bars and switch signals before queues become frustrated. A vehicle that leaves the road earns points, and successful crossings gradually raise the level and increase the traffic challenge.

Press Honk or the space bar to play the horn and give waiting drivers a small patience boost. This ability recharges after use. Send Police, or the C key, activates nine seconds of traffic assistance: vehicles move faster and drivers receive extra patience. The police ability also has a cooldown, so save it for a difficult moment. Sound starts after pressing Start and can be muted with the speaker button.

The large illustrated playfield scales to the available screen width. Use Expand for fullscreen where the browser allows it, or rotate your phone for a wider view. Pause with the pause button or the P key whenever you need a break. A shift ends after 120 seconds or when public patience runs out. The game remembers your best completed score locally when browser storage is available. Try another shift and improve your balance between traffic flow and pedestrian service.
